Sintra
offers a host of things to
do and to see.
Next to
the museums and monuments
we mention the cultural
events that take place
during the summermonths
as f.i. the Ballet at
the Seteais,
performances that take
place in the gardens of
the Seteais Palace during
July and August or the
Sintra Music Festival
that takes place in June
and July in the Sintra
National Palace, the
Queluz National palace or
the Quinta da Piedade.
In the
Parque da Liberdade you
can see throughout the
year a virtual theatershow
called “the Portuguese in
Japan of the 16th
century”, first shown at
the Expo 98.

has so many monuments, we

Sport and pleasure
In and around Sintra you
will find a host of of
golfclubs where you can
play.
There are also various
stables, tennisclubs as
well as a few public
swimmingpools.
If you like, the Praia
Grande offers excellent
surfconditions as well as
para-gliding fascilities.
Quite an experience are
the tours by Jeep through
the Sintra highlands or a
carriage ride in and
around the historical
centre of the town.
For those who wish to
enjoy the fresh sea breeze
or the envigourating smell
of pinetrees in the
sur-rounding forests, we
have bikes at their
